Located on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula is the beautiful property Morning Rise Stud.
A privately-owned, boutique stud farm Morning Rise Stud is the vision of thoroughbred devotee Robert McClure.
Morning Rise aims to achieve breeding excellence through breeding a select group of quality broodmares to the best commercial stallions available in Australia with the view of selling the progeny at the major sales in Australia.
Situated in a lush valley overlooking beautiful Port Phillip Bay, Morning Rise is a 77 acre farm located in picturesque Red Hill. With ten state of the art stabling facilities, irrigated pasture, horse mesh fencing, posts and rails fencing as well as a fully equipped foaling facility, Morning Rise is able to ensure the maximum breeding potential out of its high quality band of broodmares. As well as the stud facilities Morning Rise also features three farm houses and a guest house. An experienced live on manager ensures all horses on the property get the best of care.
Amongst the many outstanding individuals bred on Morning Rise, one of our favourites is the very first foal bred on the farm, Break A Theory, a colt by Galileo, who won half a million on the track in Japan.
Another is the very good Northwest Passage, a So You Think colt out of Danevade, that is a black type performer.
Other serious horses Morning Rise have been involved with include Group One winning mare Yosei, Melbourne Cup Winner Fiorente, Glencadem Gold, Julienas, Crystal Fountain and Stakes performed, Wolf Cry, a son of Street Cry who now stands at Larneuk Stud.
More recent winners include the promising Stakes Winner Crown Witness, who defeated Catchy at her last outing and Maiden winner Coral Coast.
